Adult Sunday
School
At FUMC we believe that God calls every Christian to
grow in their faith. Adult Sunday School is a great
opportunity to grow and connect with others. We have
classes from 9:00 – 10:00 am, leaving you time
afterwards to enjoy Fellowship Hour before joining us
for worship at the 10:30 am service. We currently offer
two classes, but please check back as this does change.
Current Issues “Higher Grounds”
Class
This class meets in the upstairs classroom of the Wesley Center, to enjoy freshly brewed Fair Trade Coffee while conversing about their latest study. Since its inception in 1994, the group has read and discussed over 50 books on a variety of socially relevant topics. We are currently reading The Spiral Staircase by Karen Armstrong. In 1962, at age seventeen, the author entered a convent, eager to meet God. After seven brutally unhappy years as a nun, she left her order. Her future seemed very much in question until she stumbled into comparative theology. What she found, in learning, thinking, and writing about other religions, was the ecstasy and transcendence she had never felt as a nun. The Spiral Staircase is an extraordinary account of her astonishing spiritual journey. We will be discussing this book through February 2012 – please join us. Contact class facilitators Rick and Linda Craft
with any questions or for more information.
The Blessings Bunch
Have you ever really considered what it means to be blessed? In this class we are using John Stott's study guide to learn more about the Sermon on the Mount and what Jesus taught about blessings. We meet in the Adult Meeting Room from 9:00 - 10:00 am. All are welcome to join us at anytime. Extra books are available. Contact Lew and Gina Hubbard
with any questions or for more information.
