Our giving represents an act of worship in which we thank
God for our blessings and acknowledge that everything we
have is a gift from God. We give because He first gave to
us. “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift.” - 2 Corinthians 9:15
The Bible teaches generous financial giving. Why?
When you give, you …
- Meet a need. “Share with God’s people who
are in need.” - Romans 12:13
- Show your faith in God’s provision.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that
there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says
the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open
the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much
blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” - Malachi 3:10
- Help to build His Kingdom. You can’t take
it with you. Jesus said, “Do not store up for
yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust
destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But
store up for yourselves treasures in heaven.” -
Matthew 6:19-20
- Make your life more complete. “Command
them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be
generous and willing to share. In this way they will
lay treasures for themselves as a firm foundation
for the coming age, so that they may take hold of
the life that is truly life.” - 1 Timothy 6:17-19
